A member of iConn will meet you at the property and a viewing will be undertaken. You will have the opportunity to take notes and ask questions regarding the property and the local area; including our administration and application process.
Once you have decided you would like to be considered to rent a property; you will be asked to pay a holding fee (equivalent to a half months rent) this holding fee will be held whilst your application is being processed. The application process will involve undertaking a reference for each named proposed tenant over 18 years of age. Read more about the referencing process and try our affordability calculator here.
It is at this point, you will be asked what date you would like to move into the property. For full details of the application process and the fees involved, please see our 'Terms, fees and application section'.
Once your application has been approved and your references have been successful; you will be asked to sign the tenancy agreement as well as paying the administration fee, the balance of the deposit and the first month's rent in advance.
Once all the relevant paperwork has been signed and all monies paid, you will be met at the property either by a member of iConn or the Landlord and a check in will be undertaken. A document called an Inventory & Schedule of condition will be used as a comparison report to confirm the condition of the property at that time; once the content has been agreed; you will be asked to sign the document. A copy of the Inventory will be issued to you for your records. On the check in; you will be issued with a set of keys for the property.
